Two denominators, because they answer different questions. Out of 316: what these employers ask for when they say. Out of 609: how often a UK cloud advert commits to a work mode at all — and 48% of them do not.

The on-site share is 36 postings — 11% of the 316 that state a mode, 6% of all 609.

It is stated that way and no wider. The 293 silent adverts are the tempting place to find a bigger number, and the temptation is exactly why they are left out: an advert that does not mention working arrangements is an advert that does not mention them, not an on-site role. The true on-site share is somewhere between 6% and 54% of all postings, and this sample cannot narrow it further.

For the same reason the job boards’ own remote flag is not used here. On the 316 postings where the advert states a mode we can quote, that flag agrees 80% of the time—and it has no value for “hybrid” at all, so it cannot express the majority answer above.

Every on-site reading in this run was checked against its quote by hand. 9 did not survive: 2 stated a part-week split (“4 days per week in the office”), which is hybrid, and 7 rested on a quote that named an office without saying where the work happens (“based in a brand-new purpose-built facility”), which is an address, not an arrangement. Both corrections only ever make the on-site figure smaller.
